Do you know what Gimme Lean Sausage (Vegan) tastes like???
SAUSAGE!!!! Unbelievable but true.

This stuff is FANTASTIC and it doesn't have all that shit that's in regular meat package plant sausage! You know that stuff made with the head, lips, ears, snout, cheeks, of various unlucky animals? Oh and it's all stuck together with gelatin which is made from other inedible animal crap.

If you like SAUSAGE try it!

1. Oh yeah.
It's incredible! I've used it on pizzas and given it to family. They can't believe it either. No grease dripping off of it, or cholesterol. Yet still tasty.

Also put it in breakfast burritos.

2. It's really good on pizza, too.
Some of the faux meats are becoming almost undiscernable from the real thing.

7. That answers my question.
Many vegetarian fake meats are terrible tasting if you expect meat, but pretty tasty if you accept them for what they are. For example, I like Fakin' Bacon but it bears little resemblance to the real thing -it's just a tasty tempeh. I also prefer just about any other brand of veggie burger to Boca, because Boca reminds me of the preformed cheap grade cafeteria food hamburgers.

I'll have to try some Gimme Lean!

4. Damn!
Seriously? Because I honestly love sausage, but can't bring myself to eat the nasty stuff, knowing what's in it...

I adore Boca Burgers... please tell me this stuff is every bit as good? You may have saved my palate!

6. indeed i do
i like it. when i became a vegetarian "vegetarian" food could not be found in grocery stores. it was confined to health food stores and even then, one's choices were limited in variety- prices were ridiculous too.
my son use to eat it on sandwiches with lettuce and tomato, the works.

9. I've been eating Boca, but I gotta try this stuff now.

You make it sound like Da Bomb!

Once I started on the South Beach diet, I started eating Boca Sausage and an egg in the mornings. While I don't dislike Boca, I do think it has a different taste than any meat product I've ever had. I'm ready for a change of pace.

FWIW, I made Vegetarian chili along with meat chili at the last chili cook-off I entered. I won with the meat chili, but I had a LOT of people that really liked the veggie version a lot. I had one guy who actually came back to tell me that he'd NEVER had chili before because he'd never seen it made veggie.

I figured he probably wasn't much of a cook, but even so, I was pretty tickled that he liked it that well. I made that batch with Boca crumbles--but if this stuff is as good as you describe I'll use it next year. Maybe I'll make a few more "Converts".

I make pizzas here at home and I have gone almost exclusively to turkey sausage and pepperoni on those. If I find acceptable meat free versions I will go veg for the family pizza night too.

How cool! Thanks for the tip!

Laura

10. That sounds really good
I'll have to check the co-op next time I'm there, which will probably be later this afternoon.

11. Boca sausages are really good, too.
But they're more for eating like hot dogs than using in recipes. The first time I grilled one of those over charcoal I had to keep checking to make sure I hadn't gotten one of the real brats by mistake.

I'm not actually a vegetarian, but I'm pretty squeamish about meat in general, and sausage in particular.
