Sergei Grinkov RIP...remember him?
Since we're on figure skating here in the lounge. I remember feeling so very sad for Ekaterina Gordeeva...

they were beautiful to watch and that was such a shock.

2. I read the book she wrote
My Sergei, what a beautiful story and such a loss to the skating world. They were the most beautiful pair, on and off the ice.

8. Does anyone know if Katerina and Ilya Kulik are still together?
I thought it was nice that she found someone who could join her on the ice, but it's been a while since I heard anything about her.

10. I believe they are still together and that they have a child as well.
He is very protective of their privacy, so it's hard to find information on the two of them.

20. Daria is a teenager now... omg
I saw a picture of her and her mother recently... I'm getting old.

I was at the Y working out when it came on TV that he had died.

Remember when she skated for the first time without him??? I so cried!!!

21. When she did that memorial, I was sobbing.
Because she skated like she had a partner and seemed so lost. And then when she tried a solo career.

9. They were my favorite pair besides Tai and Randy
isn't it funny that tonight brings back these memories?

Weren't they a truly beautiful couple? I was tremendously sad for her when he died so young.

14. They were mine too. I was just stunned and saddened. And then
she had the tribute show...where she skated alone but acted as if she had a partner, and my heart just broke for her.

11. He died at 28 - November, 1995.
Gawds, they were beautiful together. His death really threw a monkey wrench into my faith, believe it or not. How does one just drop dead at 28?

Thank you for the reminder of their beauty and passion, both on and off the ice. :)

16. Me either. I don't know how wives and mothers find that kind of strength
to move on. The woman across the street from us had five small children when her husband died. She was 29. This was 40 years ago...and I still don't know how she did it. Her boys adore her.

Tenessee and they put in a beautiful memorial garden for him. She really does seem like a nice person.
