I love "The Journey" and his album with Chet Atkins "The Day the Fingerpickers Took Over the World."

He's amazing. I love the sound he gets out of that old Fender Telecaster.

4. He is truly phenomenal....

He did a great show in a very small venue (he's not well known here in Ft Worth). Every seat very close to the stage. First time I've seen him live.

I am hoping the handshake will rub something off on my own playing (Lord knows I need it!!!)

I first came to know Tommy's work when he was on the same episode of "Mountain Stage" as Todd Rundgren. I came for Todd, stayed for Tommy.

Memorized all of Chet Atkins' albums, then traveled all the way from Australia to meet his god. Wound up recording with him.

11. Why I like Tommy Emmanuel, in 25 words or less, by B_E_B

Chet Atkins' final album before his passing was "The Day Finger Pickers Took Over The World." He received co-billing. Even though we didn't know it at the time, this was Chet's last gift of music to the world.

Since then I've heard Tommy's own albums, and he is unquestionably a man of great talent...but I'll never hear his name or his music without thinking of Chet.
