iBook G4 help requested for my little mom
I bought my little 74 year old mom an ibook G4 for her birthday. Its cool but for the fish-eyed way the damned screens zoom in and out, sometimes in the middle of typing. In my life, I have never seen anything like it and I want to KILL SOMEONE it makes me so mad. How do I get rid of windows zooming into shadow, zooming up and down and out. Thanks for saving my window. I am about to through this machine through it. I loved apples and macs until now. I HATE this machine and my mom is practically hiding under the bed.

Thanks,

RV, who had the screen fade even as I tried to hit the post button

1. Do you mean...

...they're minimizing to the Dock all by themselves, or is it as if you're zooming in on them with a telephoto lens?

Edited to add: sounds like it's an Exposé thing, like Omphaloskepsis said below.

5. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH! I can't tell you how aggravated I've
been. I couldn't get mac to help me so I came here because I KNEW someone would help me. Thank you, thank you, thank you for both of us. :)

2. are you thinking of expose?
Apple menu -> system preferences -> expose

You might have a corner set as hot. Or a letter key set to activate expose.

3. Look for the little apple in the upper left-hand corner
Click and hold on that.
Go to "System Preferences", click on that.
Go to "Dashboard and Expose", click on that.
Where it says "Active Screen Corners", go to the menus for each corner, and change the selection to "-"

____That should take care of the window minimizing______

4. You also may be hitting some F keys.
Check in system prefs to see if any F keys are designated to activate Exposé.

You may also have the dock set to balloon up. Mainly what you need to do is explore each of the sytem pref icons, one by one, to see what they do. Some are uselful. Some are not. You can deactivate most everything that annoys you.
