Chemtrails: what the hell is this for real?

1. Okay, I've heard chemtrails mentioned here before..

And I have a vague idea as to what they are, but I don't know the whole story or why they're part of DU Lore. So what gives?

Funny you should mention it. THere were AT LEAST 50 or more of these trails overhead, criss-crossing all over the fucking place. Damn! I should have taken a pic! Will for sure when I see it again.

even in the picture in the wikipedia article, they look like normal contrails. This is what happens when air exiting jet engines condenses. I think a lot of these reports come from people who are used to seeing a commercial aircraft's contrails, and then a military plane flys over, with a very different contrail pattern (due to different engine designs and speed of flight) and whalaa!!! Instant conspiracy theory!!!!

I live near a Naval Air Station, but have to say, the trails in the sky this late afternoon were more than I have ever seen at one time.
