Question from a Photobucket Newbie
I know that I've seen threads on this topic a brazillion times, but I've only just now tried to post a picture.

If someone who uses Photobucket can help me, which link do you copy: the one on the top of the page, or the one in the URL box below the picture?

Thanks in advance!!

2. When I tried...
...it was giving me an error message. I tried to use the URL at the top of the page, and it was saying that the link included illegal code?

Have you ever had this happen?

3. Yes, any will work.
But, this forum is HTML enabled, and will apply code as needed automatically. So, just use the link at the top of the three link boxes which is the link with just the URL and no additional code added. Also, put the link on it's own line. That is, hit return before the pix after any text, then paste the link and hit return again. Happy pixing!

13. Thanks!
Thank you for the response. I did use the top one, but it was giving me mean error messages when I viewed my post. I'll try the bottom one next time. :hi:

AHH! I'm only a closet nerd, so the whole img tag thing just lost me, but that seems like a really easy way to get the URL. Thanks for the good info! :hi:

22. DU automatically interprests a direct link to an image...
Without any fancy code.

There are three boxes below each image: Url, Tag, and IMG.

For DU, you want to use what is in the URL box, since it automatically interprets that as an image. On other message boards, it's very common to used the IMG box. The cod in there is called BBcode, and is quite common.

The tag box is HTML code. Not a lot of message boards let you post HTML, so that one is more useful for posting in a blog or your own website.

Hope that was clear and helpful.

10. Thanks for the info.
Looking at it, it may be easier. I've always seen people referring to photobucket, so that's where I went first.

Thank you! :hi:

12. Also, I had been using tinyurl for a while
so I sort of trust the site...

I never had any luck with photobucket, but used tinypic easily on the first try.

Have fun!

17. I just click on the first box to highlight the url
then right click and copy. Then paste the url in your post. Pics will then magically appear in your post.

23. Oh handsome fellow...
You might scale the picture down (make it smaller) and then repost it at Photobucket...the photo package that came with your camera should do it (as well as rid this cute fellow of his redeye problem)...

If not there are a few freebies photo touching tools out there...PaintShop Pro is very good for web based stuff

(I love the button maker!!...much faster than the rest of them costing lots more)

Good for you...the web is at your feet now

25. Great info!
The resizing tip explains a lot. I've seen people post raw photos from their digital cameras that were absolutely *huge.* That would be the resizing thing again.

Thanks! :)

24. She is a meanie.
But she is very cute when she wants to be.:)

Actually, my son took that picture with his camera, which is why it is so fuzzy. He just got a hamster, so she is quite peeved with him.
