need Valentine's help - any Jazz music lovers out there???
I need some suggestions for a Jazz album to buy my husband for Valentine's day. Here's some of what's in his collection to give you an idea of what styles he likes:

Miles Davis
Ellis and Branford Marsalis
Afro Cuban All Stars
John Coltrane
Paolo Conte
John Hiatt
Thelonious Monk

Anyone out there know of a new album that my hubby might like??

Many thanks!

8. Wasn't it "Miles Davis" that the male nanny told Tom Cruise...
...in the movie "Jerry Maguire" to play if he wanted to score?
Sorry, that's about as helpful or un-helpful as I can be. ;)

Benoit is great. A little on the smooth side of jazz, but he still can hit it.

16. 4 Freshmen and 5 Trombones
A lot of people don't think of the "Frosh" as jazz artists.
They're wrong.

22. I'm so checking this out later - you have no idea how hard it is for me to
shop for him!! I am loving Jazz since being with him but I am such a Jazz virgin! My roots are in early 80s punk/alternative and some hippie stuff.

20. Monk and Coltrane live at Carnegie Hall is supposed to be
extraordinary. Album: Theolonious Monk Quartet with John Coltrane at Carnegie Hall. THE jazz album of the year, I've heard.
