Weirdest nightmare last night

I dreamed I was telling a kid not to be afraid of a demon he thought was in the room. The kid was really scared and started trying to run away screaming, but I held onto the kid. I told the kid there wasn't a demon, because if there was, we would hear him, because he would breathe like a demon. SO I started breathing like a demon to show the kid how a demon would breathe. It was a short, snarling, gasping breath. Very creepy, even for a dream. The kid got even more scared and started screaming and the kid's mother (not someone I recognized, nor was the kid) came in the room and started screaming that I was the demon. I grabbed the mother and held the kid and kept breathing this harsh, creepy breathing, louder and louder, until I woke up. I could feel in my throat that I had really been breathing like that, and I kept it up for a moment or two after I woke up.

Scared the hell out of me. It took me a few minutes to convince myself I wasn't possessed by a demon (old Catholic upbringing and too many exorcist movies, I guess). Then when I fully woke up and was sure, I started worrying I had been choking or snoring so hard it had interrupted my breathing.

After I while I became convinced that my homemade vegetarian chili should probably not be eaten as a midnight snack! :-)

My second dream was much better. I dreamed I woke up to hear that Bush and Cheney had been arrested for trying to cover up a hunting accident. I tried really hard to hang on to that feeling for as long as possible.
