I'm confused about something with the hearts

I donated a little while ago so I could distribute some of the love. When I checked my inbox, I saw a message that I had been the lucky recipient of a heart which was timestamped at the exact same time as my donation email. Are donors getting hearts themselves today for donating, or was this a case of timing?

And if that heart was a gift from another DUer, many thanks!

3. Don't know. From what I've heard, no - however, I've also heard of

people accidently giving one to themselves. I didn't donate (since I do automatically, monthly), so I don't know what the message looks like (if there is one) that tells you that you have hearts available to give to others.
