How to preserve those roses...
Don't use the chemical packet...It's useless. I tried this last year for the first time, and had amazing results! Follow the steps as soon as you get the roses home.

1) Fill a vase with room-temperature water.

2) Bring a pan of water to a boil.

3) Cut two inches off the bottom of each stem while holding it under cool water.

4) Immediately plunge the bottom of the cut stem into the boiling water for a few seconds.

5) Immediately drop that conditioned rose into the vase.

Happy Valentine's Day! :loveya:

1. It helps but they are too small
My mother used to do a lot of flowers for weddings.
Cutting the stems in water is a big plus. When you make the cut they suck up some of the water and stay fresh longer.

2. I've always cut under running water
I was amazed at how much longer they lasted when I did the boiling water thing.
