Would YOU Travel to Bali/Indonesia?

My wife - lovely, educated Indonesian that she is - has been stuck inside the US since mid-2002, forbidden to travel until her adjustment of status has been processed. Now that she has a green card and is able to travel, she's itching to visit her close family members in Jakarta since she hasn't seen them for a few years.

I've been to Indonesia before (2002) and was absolutely fascinated, and would love to visit Bali as well, but for some reason I feel a lot of anxiety about making this particular trip - after all, I am a blue-eyed, light-skinned, very-obvious Westerner travelling across a country with a fair amount of Anti-American sentiment.

On previous trips I encountered not a whit of hostility or trouble, and I'd dearly love to visit the country again, but I just can't shake this vague feeling of anxiety when I consider it.
