The actor who played him.

3. Richard Biggs (Dr. Stephen Franklin)
died of a stroke on May 22, 2004. He was, I believe, 45 at the time.

4. Damn!
I miss that show but at least JMS was to complete it and tell his story, for the most part.

A good friend of mine provided set dressings to the show:

When RL was an extra, he said it was pretty odd to see Andreas, fully made up as G'Kar, puffing away on a cig.

9. Sorry to hear that.
You should see what is morbidly called the "Trek death list."

James Doohan is the most recent.
Remember Merrick Buttrick, who played Kirk's bastard kid "David Marcus" in two movies and appeared in an episode of The Next Generation?
Died 17 March 1989
New York, New York, USA. (AIDS)

Angelique Pettyjohn, the porn actress who put on the silver bikini for the Old Series "The Gamesters of Triskelion" died too.
14 February 1992
Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. (cancer)

Even Roger C. Carmel, the beloved by fans "Harry Mudd" has died.
11 November 1986
Hollywood, California, USA. (hypertensive cardiomyopathy)

13. Slight correction...
That should read "Angelique Pettyjohn, the actress who put on the silver bikini for the Old Series "The Gamesters of Triskelion", and later was briefly a porn actress, died too."

She wasn't originally a porn actress--in fact IIRC she was only in two porn films. She did a lot of small TV roles before and after the original Trek.

7. A real loss
Wonderful character actor. I'm sure we all remember him as Tomalak as well: "So, Captain, how long shall we stare at each other across the Neutral Zone?"

8. No!!!
NO!!!! ;(
Not Katsulas!

He was one of the few, along with Walter Koenig, to play on both Star Trek and Babylon 5, playing the Romulan Cmdr Tomalak in several episodes (over half a dozen seasons) of NextGen in addition to his memorable performance as G'Kar over the 5-year run of B5, and subsequent films;

He actually had a sort of "Sci-Fi trifecta", having also played "Koulak" on a 1989 episode of "Alien Nation" ("The Game")

He will be missed, at least in THIS House!

12. Dammit.
 Andreas was a great character actor, and he was awesome in B5. 59 is much too soon for him to leave us. :(

16. Wow. Only 59 That's A Shame
I had no idea of his age, because he almost always played a character with prosthetics and make-up. That's pretty young. Too bad!

17. b5 G'Kar quotes
"The year we took back what was ours."

"No one here is exactly what he appears."

"No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom. Against that power tyrants and dictators cannot stand. The Centauri learned that lesson once. We will teach it to them again. Although it take a thousand years, we will be free."

"It is said that the future is always born in pain. The history of war is the history of pain. If we are wise, what is born of that pain matures into the promise of a better world, because we learn that we can no longer afford the mistakes of the past."

"Well, with everyone now on the same side, perhaps you're planning to invade yourselves for a change. I find the idea curiously appealing. Once"
