1. I thought Texas was it's own geographical area.

20. California is technically southwest, though I don't know anyone who agrees
Heck, we even go on VACATIONS to VISIT the Southwest :)

If you want to be geographically accurate, I guess you could say that everything south of the Tehachapi's is "southwest", but the state north of that is usually labelled just as "west" or even "northwest".
