8. In direct marketing it is widely believed that Americans will listen
to a sales pitch longer if it is done in any form of British accent. And by ANY I mean Aussie, Irish, New Zealand, etc.

Actually, the really sad thing is that the gecko is an improvement on those obnoxious "I've got good news" commercials that beat the same old unfunny joke to death. The gecko still has to die, though.
