I'm a spoiled little Southern California gal! But I grew up in the bay Area... it's coler there. Not quite like upstate new York i nthe dead of winter... but it gets more chilly in the bay Area than in the LA area, that's for sure!

20. Comedic take on the founding of Chicago:
A bunch of New Yorkers were standing around one day saying, "I love the overcrowding and the crime and the urban blight and all guys, but ya know? It's just not cold enough!"

I can't recall which comedian said that, but it's a fair description in my book. ;)

23. -11but headed to 13 above tomorrow
Actually, been a very mild and pleasant winter here for the most part (well, by local standards, mild). Few days below zero. Remember one winter where it didn't even get to zero for over 45 days straight and never made it above freezing for over 90 days. That one was sorta nasty.

32. Poor dear! I know you're freezing there.
I'm from SoCal (LA) and live in central Texas now. I know that's pretty chilly to you, but it's not REALLY cold. My mom lives up on NoCal, high up in the mountains, when I go and visit her I get to experience real cold. I quickly learned how not to drive in the snow when going down a mountain. :P

Right now my thermometer outside is showing the temp as -- I guess that means it's cold? It feels cold anyway. I knew I shouldn't have bought the digital one.

I do know that it's raining and supposed to turn into sleet within the next hour or so. We're predicted to get around 1/4 inch of ice on the roads over night. Doesn't sound bad to most people, but for some reason these people think that means they have to go out and dive real fast then slam on their brakes. :eyes:

and personally, if it's 40 in the winter, I find myself wearing just a sweatshirt over my t-shirt. Your body kind of adjusts. In the summer, I feel like I'm freezing at 60.

38. Pretty much...
I actually moved back into my mom's house last month to save money. I'm always freezing in her house. However, I discovered that if I'm vigiliant in keeping my bedroom door closed it stays warm. I think it's because of the heat lamps in my room for the lizards (2 bearded dragon tanks and a leopard gecko tank.)

here in Wisconsin too. Right now temp is minus 15 with a wind chill factor of minus 36!

That definably squelches my plans to go x-country skiing today, unless it warms up considerably by this afternoon.
