I want to post my pic, but don't know how..

A friend of mine took a picture of me a few months back, and he just sent it to me in my email.. How do I get it from my email to a thread.. Please explain with great detail and in simple terms.. My computer skills rival that of a 3 year old.. Thanx in advance..

1. Use photobucket.

Go to http://www.photobucket.com

Create an account, then upload your pic from the document to the web site.

2. Just put it up on the net, and link to it

Easiest way is to set up a free account at photobucket (and don't use any of your real information to do it; make up fake names), and then you can upload your picture to that. Photobucket will then give you the URL that you need to put into your thread to show the picture.

To upload your picture, you need to detach it from the email and save it to your harddrive first. Then, in photobucket, they have a button for "upload image" or something like that. Just click on that, find the picture, click on it, and photobucket will pull it off your harddrive and put it on their server.

And then you can show it all you want!

5. Do you by chance know how to save something to the hard drive? I

can't get past that step.. I created the account with no problem, but I can't figure out how to save the sucker to my hard drive.. I've been stuck on that step for the last 5 minutes and can't get past it..

6. If you're looking at the pic in your email

You should be able to right-click and "Save As"... if not, you may have an option under one of your top menus to "Save Attachment As". Let me know if that doesn't help!

8. Ok, this is the point where you need photobucket

If you have the photobucket account, if you go into that you should see a button for "upload photo" or something like that. You'll need to select the photo from wherever you saved it from your mail. There should be a "Browse..." button to let you find the file. Once you have it uploaded, it will show a URL under the picture. You highlight the whole URL, and paste that text into the Message box of the post you're making, and when you post it, it should display the image. Use Preview button on DU to make sure it worked right! :)

13. OK, now you see a couple of little horizontal boxes under your pic?

Right click on the lower box, and it will highlight.....

Then just copy and paste it (that box) into your post here on DU...

Voila! It took me awhile to figure it out too.......You will get it!
