I think I will feel like crap soon
My strep throat yesterday has turned into a ticklish cough today, and I have a headache which I guess is due to blocked sinuses. I suspect I may have worse to come. :(

1. Ugh. Sorry to hear that.
Strep throat is horrible enough. Get some medication and I hope you feel better soon.

The paracetamol made me feel a bit better. I certainly don't intend trying to accomplish anything!

9. Do you want me to rush over with some cold remedies?
Though as you don't drink that rules out just about all of those which I take.

Anyway - get thee to bed and damn early too.

10. Thanks mason!
But I'm at my mum's right now, so not so close to Bucks as usual. Good place to be looked after though. :)

But thanks! :pals:

11. Well,
be prepared for a week feeling like this. There's no escape, actually. :( But you might feel better to know that even I had it for the first time since years.

Can you get Wicks MediNait? (Or something similar?) It'll help you sleep. But don't use more Paracetamol than what the description suggests. Paracetamol turns livers into a mess pretty quickly.

It'll be over, no worries.

14. Nah, I just think the old saying is true:
"A cold with medication lasts 7 days. A cold without medication lasts 7 days also."

But Paracetamol does comfort it a little bit. And I think Lemsip is the same stuff I took before going to bed, even the name here is different. This was comforting.

16. Yeah, it helped some
And I shan't take any extra paracetamol, because it contains some. I certainly don't want to OD on that, as you pointed out.

25. Yes.
You should really take lemsip before going to sleep. During the day, for the headache, you always can take an aspirin or something similar.

Buit I just think that the worst is if you can't sleep because of a cold; considering the replenishing of energy our body does while sleeping.

Inhaling is good, too. Do you have some tiger balm or Po Oil around? Put it in hot water and inhale the steam. That's good for the sinuses.

As I said, it won't make you 'normal' the next day, but it's comforting.

17. You said you had strep...
ABs are important for strep so you do not get scarlet fever.

22. Awww, sorry to hear billyskank
Strep throat is awful...

One old remedy I've found so helpful are mustard plasters. Mix 1 part mustard powder to 3 parts flour...I have a big jar of it mixed for when I need it.

Mix with some very warm water into a paste...and smother it onto an old rag (I save old t-shirts for this). Fold it over, wrap it in a scarf, or a few more old rags, and apply to the area and let it sit. The heat draws the blood to the area. I use it for sore throats as well as sinuses. Just watch not to burn yourself if you try it.

It stinks...but your mum will still love you anyway!...and is kinda messy, but it sure is helpful.

Steaming will also help those sinuses, too. Boiling the water with some garlic, and inhaling that steam, is great for the stuffies.

Hope you feel better soon!

24. Here's the deal:
Go get a GIANT container of OJ and drink it.

When that's gone, go get another GIANT container of OJ and drink that.

Repeat steps 1-2 as necessary.

Also, drink at least one chai tea a day.

Just sip on something constantly... the vitamin C, caffeine, and sheer bulk of fluids will all help you feel better.
