Double murder today - in our apartment complex

We were curious as to why so many police cruisers were showing up. There's a corner of our apartment complex I nicknamed "Crime Alley" because it seemed like cops were showing up there a lot over the past year, but today we had no less than six squad cars parked outside those apartments. And it turns out the reason why is because a husband-wife pair have been shot dead in their home, and the alleged killer is still at large.

Moving wouldn't really help - this was no random crime, from what we learned so far. The victims apparently knew their killer.

Plus, I'm running for Democratic precinct chair for this neighborhood. Someone has to do it.

11. The Park Lane Murders in Dallas

1981 Occurred two floors below my apartment as my wife was sleeping. I was on call that night, and didn't get home until seven the next morning. Crime scene tape every where, they wouldn't let me in. Sweet Pea was in the shower, oblivious to what was going on outside. Scary times. The crime was never solved, but one of the murderers confessed twenty years later from death row in Tennessee.
