2. yes! espadrilles!
you don't like them? I love them (some are hideous, true), but the best ones come from Europe. Though I think I'm missing the point of this thread. But, look at these....

3. Those are pretty shoes!
I think they're very feminine looking without looking slutty. So many of the current sandals look slutty (I'm thinking of the backless kind) or just plain sloppy (like flip flops)

9. yeah, I had a hard time finding sandals last year that
either weren't flip-flops, totally flimsy (super high heels with one teeny strap that there was no way I could walk in) or really heavy-looking clunkers. These espadrilles seem to be feminine yet substantial...

12. What about huraches? Real ones from Mexico
that have the tire-tread bottom. I wore those for years, and now I can't find them anymore. Do any of you shoe-freaks, like me, know where I can find them?

The last huaraches I bought in Mexicao were SHIT..and I paid quite a lot for them.. They are probably made in Myanmar or Viet Nam these days:(

17. BUFFALO SANDALS!!!!
I actually SAW some recently! where the hell was that??? probably a paper catalog - will post if I get a memory jolt!

You can get decent huraches (even at payless, believe it or not), but with leather soles, not tire treads.

14. Ha, I asked about espadrilles in a shoe store down here in NC...
The clerk had no idea what I was talking about. :eyes:

I finally found something similar made by Keds.
