What is the going tooth fairy rate?
Our daughter lost another tooth this morning, and we were discussing the tooth fairy rate tonight after we put her to bed. I say that the current rate is $1 however, the wife pulls out a $5 and tells me that it has been adjusted for inflation since we were kids.

Am I just a cheap summa-, or has the rate been adjusted for inflation?

The tooth fairy only gives my kids a dollar...
 I got a quarter as a child in the 70's...so the buck is inflation. :) They get five for the first loss...to establish a business relationship and then a buck for each one. Your wife is crazy. ;)

7. Our Tooth Fairy usually gives $2
but I think $1 is just fine .. $5 is too much, IMO. The kid has a mouthful to lose, afterall, and that can cost the Tooth Fairy beaucoup bucks over the years ... Plus, these young whippersnappers these days don't know the value of a dollar! *shakes cane angrily and gestures with index finger*

9. We give $2 per tooth, rolled up very tightly and tied with a dental floss
bow. We also put fairy dust around their pillow and on the window sill, so it looks like a magical "trail" she's left behind.

Works like a charm.
