TiVo/DVR experts, help!!
I have a DVR through DirecTV. It has a USB port in the front that I assume will allow me to transfer shows I have recorded and saved to the DVR to my computer, so I can record them to a DVD.

Do I need any additional software to do this, and how does one go about transferring programs from the DVR to the computer? Will the computer just recognize it as an external drive, like it would a jump drive?

1. My tivo manual says the USB port is not active.
It says that it is for "future use". I guess if they develop software for it they will activate it with a programming upgrade.
