3. That was so much fun!
Thanks for posting it. It was a lighthearted way to start the day.

I like to do the same things these people do, only I build mine outdoors. Here are a couple links.

This one is an overhead tunnel I built from the utility room to the enclosed pool area. The pool is up the mountain.

This is an outdoor area they can access through a window. We call it the "kitty condo." They can sit in the trees or take a nice, safe nap outdoors.

You wouldn't need a TV in that house, I am sure the entertainment never ends.

7. Fun For The Cats... But What About RESALE Value Of The House?
Do all those cat-friendly modifications make the house MORE valuable or LESS?

12. I've know about this for 15 years when they were on a TV show I saw.
I finally found her last year on the internet but she has added many PICS. This takes a very special family that would appreciate what she has done but I doubt that they plan on selling any time soon. Between the cat walks and the paint job this would not be an easy sale. Can you imagine calling a realtor & their reaction?

13. Who cares, if they're not planning to sell it?
I think the owners probably plan on staying there and made those modifications for their own (and their cats') pleasure, which is more important to them than the value of the house. What I do to my house, I do because I want to enjoy living in it, not because of the potential financial value in the event of a sale. I expect the owners of the Cats' House look at their house the same way.

16. They do not plan on ever selling
Edited on Sat Feb-25-06 05:25 PM by SoCalDem
and I would guess that as they get older and their kitties pass away, they might make changes at that point, but for the time being, they just enjoy it the way it is.:)

We ARE planning on selling in about 5 years, and have already realized that when we put our house up for sale, we will have to move out first with our kitties, and eradicate any indication of them at this house before we get a decent price. It;s just the price we pay for having cats..

Our house is all tiled, so "cat smell" will not be an issue..(we will need to replace some drywall, where one rascal insists on digging at it)

One area we will put new carpet in before we sell, but the rest is strictly tile & area rugs:)
