How are you all doing?

I stopped posting on DU back in August of last year I think. I was encountering a lot of flack here and I had just had enough. I've decided that I will come back here for a little while and see how everything is going. Maybe I'll stay, maybe I won't. I've been posting on another much smaller forum and I've decided that I like that better than the monstrosity that is DU. I'm not saying this is a bad place. I think I'm probably just better suited for a smaller forum.

I lost interest in politics shortly after the 2004 election. It was just all doom and gloom to me and I didn't want any part of it. I still will vote for Democrats for the time being and I recently made a contribution to the DNC. I'm hoping we will win big this coming election. We need something to slow down the corporate/conservative machine.

So what's happening? What have I missed in the last 6 months or so? I was mainly a lounge lizard there toward the end. I've been a DUer since March 2003. Fill me in.

As a SAHM with a FT job in the home, I don't get out much. Just to the grocery and Target on occasion.

I'm well, and still terrorizing soyfields far and wide. My work is great (I'm currently a literacy tutor for struggling children) but the pay is well below poverty-level. Eh.

How about you? Are you still working on your health?

16. I had to switch positions at my company to bring in more pay

I drive over the road now and I am only home a day and a half a week. I had to do it though because I was headed for that poverty deal myself.

News is not so good on the health front. Once I hopped back into that road tractor I found that I didn't have the time or the place to exercise. I also have not been eating like I should. I'm going to work on it, though. I'll figure something out.

...even if it hasn't been the easiest or healthiest choice to face.

Let's see...I don't know if I can fill you in with what's been going on around here. People come and go, good and not-so-good feelings are shared, you know how it goes. I'm sure that some of the posters that frequent your quieter forum can keep you up-to-date better than I can.

Sorry to hear that you've had some setbacks re: health and exercise. That's a tough one.

…you're about to be sadly disappointed. They may not be quite as deep into the pockets of the corporatacracy as the Republicans, but they're definitely in there. Nothing will change until we have publicly financed campaigns.

I forgive you. I admit to being rather thin skinned when it comes to 'my baby'. I enjoy having you on our forum. It's small and slow moving and I must confess we've been rather busy with our political venture, getting it up and running. I sure wish you were closer to us geographically and we could include you in our 'tea parties' and meetups.

I switched positions at my company. I now make a lot more money, but unfortunately that means being gone most of the week. I now have an over the road gig hauling around the midwest and the southeast. How's life?

You probably know about my dealings with the psychiatric profession so I'm not going to be one to look down on you for going the medication route. For many people it makes life 100% better. We're talking 180 degree turn around. That was the case for me. I hope that's the case for you.
