1. Unfuckingbelivable. Yes, based on this you can
Plus, the surfeit of stupid old television shows to movies trend. I believe that "I Dream of Jeannie" film is still in the works.

But this...this is beyond disgusting.

2. Well I would say you're a few years later
in that thought--Hollywood ran out of ideas a VERY long time ago, about the same time the first "remake" ever was made. And that was likely sometime in the 40s or 50s.

5. I'm sure you're right
I first really noticed it when they made a film of Scooby Doo. But I'm not suggesting at all that that was the time.

4. Makes it harder for aspiring screenwriters like me.
You know, the ones with original ideas that aren't rehashed versions of tv shows, other movies or video games.

6. Wasn't tht clear with "Ocean's Twelve"?
I have a feeling that most of the Police Academy cast had a clear calendar.

7. And it only took 100 years! Considering how long there's been literature,
art, etc. etc., it's kind of pathetic that the film industry came up with less than 100 years of originality.

9. Have you seen "Taxi"?
Queen Latifah and the SNL guy. I actually watched that on Sunday night. I had no idea why I was doing and I still don't.

10. Another sequel?!
They can't remake the original with all the original actors playing the original parts!!!!!!!!

Or maybe that is hollywood's final idea?

Just wait until Bollywood catches up. :eyes:

12. No, they haven't run out of ideas at all.
What they have run out of is producers with a fucking backbone. They tap and re-tap all the old hits because they feel they're assured of at least a minimal audience that had a thing for the original. A remake bomb will still probably yield them more money than an original bomb simply because of that fact. So it's a safer bet for them to do sequels and remakes than it is to be original.

There are millions of great ideas out there. Hollywood just doesn't have the spine to make them, and make them right.
