Need to vent -- angry with a co-worker, can't shake it
Have talked with the co-worker, but still don't feel better.

Since others in my org. are probably DU'ers, too, won't get too much into specifics, but let's just say a lot of people worked extremely hard to produce an event here at work and this person cast a dark cloud over what was designed to be a fun meeting by pushing their own agenda.

Am still angry about it, and embarrassed by how the event turned out, especially after all the work that went into it.

Just had to vent.

2. Gosh. Was it someone you disagree with politically?
It's hard to imagine what may have happened to get you so upset.

6. Actually, I would guess we probably agree on politics.

Thank you for the hug!!!

We just didn't agree on using a public, social event to, lets say, air longstanding issues with society at large. Of course, there are forums and the right time to do that, and I'm right there for it, but this wasn't the time!

This person did the verbal equivalent of throwing a bucket of pig's blood on our guests at the beginning of the event. It was hard to recover from that!

3. That sucks.
It's so easy for one thoughtless person to ruin things.

5. I abhor people like that, who think that they and their agenda's
are the most important thing. Vent away, q.a. Sometimes that's the best thing.

9. Let it out, sounds like bad behavior on your co-worker's part.
Don't be embarrassed if you didn't cause the problem. You're probably not the only person who noticed who's really responsible.

I'm sure it wasn't fun for you, though. It's hard to spend a lot of time on something and have someone undo it through selfish behavior. Sorry it didn't work out the way you and the others had planned. Sending a hug.

11. 'Preciate your words.
Your words really helped. Thanks for the hug, too.

Maybe I'm being over-dramatic (it's been known to happen), but I can't help feeling everyone's eyes on me today -- I was the most visible person doing the organizing. Oh well, in the vast scheme of things this doesn't amount to a hill of beans, I suppose... but darnit, anyway!

of weakness or sloppiness and empower them with a brilliant, appropriate idea and then watch them steal your mojo. I am a firm believer of hard to detect, polite "disassocation"... of never letting those not worthy of my "cool" ever get a taste of it. And never let them make you lose it.

my experience in the workplace to keep it close to the vest. There is power in s silence.

15. I'd be annoyed, also.
I think you need to know that most won't blame you for what happened. Besides voters, most people are not idiots. They can tell who caused the problem. Sometimes I make a movie in my head of a fiasco. It helps me to see the absurdity of it and laugh about it.

18.  I think I'll take a page from your book on that.
Maybe it will help me re-cast this as a zany comedy!
