OMG there's a HUGE HOLE in this state! Harro from Arizona!
Well we've made it this far, the kitty & me!

Driving thru New Mexico was...hmmm...the speed limit is 75 mph. That's good. :D

Driving thru Arizona until Flagstaff was...hmmm...the speed limit is 75 mph. That's good. :D

But I gotta say it was wonderful to see real live over-3-feet-tall TREES at Flagstaff! Living the past several years in Texas I'm more than used to scrub brush, so seeing real live trees again was real good!

Tomorrow we're off to California to meet up with a GF, Pat, co-founder of the Iraq Coalition Casualty Count website, and Thursday evening I'll be attending one of her weekly (for the past 3+ years) anti-Iraq invasion BRING EM HOME NOW vigils. And I hear tell there's to be digi cameras there just so DUers can see some pics of me...

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!!!

:D

2. No, we're at Flagstaff for the night.

The kitt woke me up early...damn early...so we were on the road by 6am, drove until 3pm, at which time he & I both said ENUFF of this, let's call it a day.

So I'm lounging in our hotel room, the kitt is monitoring traffic below (we're on 5th floor) and my wireless laptop actually works.

No room service (ARRRGH!) so it's delivery of soup, bread & lasagne in an hour.

Gee Life is tough. :D

3. Flagstaff is beautiful. It looks just like the Santa Cruz mountains
here in CA.

Have fun, Lynn. It's a beautiful drive. :hi:

4. Ok let's talk...

Yes it's very pretty...

But if I can run up it and back down it and not breathe hard, then it ain't a mountain. It ain't a hill. Not even a mound.

It's a bump! :P

Hey, I was born in the middle of the Rocky Mountains, what can I say? :D

9. I think of the Grand Canyon as more a gash than a hole.
To bad you missed the Sonoran Desert.

Good luck on your journey to your new home.

Some trails are happy ones
Others are blue
It's the way you ride the trail that counts
Here's a happy one for you
Happy trails to you
Until we meet again;
Happy trails to you
Keep smilin' until then.

Who cares about the clouds if we're together?
Just sing a song and bring the sunny weather.
Happy Trails to you
Till we meet again.

7. Funny story about Meteor Crater
As a Delta Air Lines jet was flying over Arizona on a clear day, the co-pilot was providing his passengers with a running commentary about landmarks over the PA system.

"Coming up on the right, you can see Meteor Crater, which is a major tourist attraction in northern Arizona. It was formed when a lump of nickel and iron, roughly 150 feet in diameter and weighing 300,000 tons, struck the earth at about 40,000 miles an hour, scattering white-hot debris for miles in every direction. The hole measures nearly a mile across and is 570 feet deep."

An excited passenger was heard to exclaim, "Wow, look honey! It just missed the highway!"

14. I am but...
I don't know when (hear there's snow/closure warnings on the Oregon pass) and I can't really do lunch coz of the kitty. Most eating spots, other than McD's drive-thru, don't seem to care much for a large fury kitt in their place.

Damned specist, ya ask me. :D

If I was alone on this trip, I'd LOVE to do lunch! You'll just have to come up to Vancouver and do tea & scones. :)

16. Welcome to my
state. The 75 miles an hours is great. Just think several years ago there was a stupid debate back in DC about it being too fast.
Jerks. Enjoy your stay.
