During my extended stay in this lodging facility they've made
a fantastical entertainment device available to me.

I think it's called a Television Appliance... Quite amazing!

After sending several notes down to the front counter to make
sure there was no charge to use the appliance or any license
required to operate the equally advanced Remote Controller.

One can use the control to change the images (similar to the
cinema) displayed on the screen. There are what I've come to
understand channels specializing on the NEWS! WEATHER! SPORTS!
No more waiting for the news reels!

It's quite addictive.

I suggest we get our best people on this!

I humbly admit difficulty with the control mechanism earlier. I had
somehow reduced the sound level to a point it could no longer be heard.

The hotel manager sent a skilled technician to my assigned room to
correct the situation and he assured me I hadn't damaged the unit.

There are dozens of buttons on the pod-like hand controller. I only
know the functions of two so far. (The system of hieroglyphics on the
buttons is somewhat obscure) One powers the unit based on something
called Electricalisity (A wonder in itself) and the other moves through
the various channels.

the back of the console.

BUT! I saw moving pictures of people in miraculous flying machines!

It left me wondering... Where do they put the horses to power the craft?

6. There's another interesting gizmo here...

It's a box with what looks like a potato masher attached to
it with a spiral cord. (I guess they don't want the two pieces
to get separated.)

Periodically it makes a ringing noise for no particular reason.

Is it a game?

I don't know.
