A question about snakes
Too much?

Tommy Woods uses a snake tong to lift one of hundreds of Western Diamondbacks turned in Friday, March 10, 2006, at the World's Largest Rattlesnake Roundup in Sweetwater, Texas. What started as a way to control rattlesnakes has grown into a four-day attraction that brings about 30,000 visitors and an economic impact of more than $5 million. (AP Photo/Betsy Blaney)

33. They do not taste like chicken
They have the same texture ans chicken and alligator, but it is a unique taste. I'd rather bite a dead snake than have one bite me!

8. Yeah, I read the article from your link...
...1200 pounds of snakes, I think it said.

To me, it would seem dull after the first 50 pounds or so, but then I admit I'm no connoisseur.

They are an integral part of the environment. Please do NOT patronize these. Would you go if it were a "Rabbit Roundup"?

The rattlesnake is an important part of America's ecology, playing a vital role in controlling the population of the Greater Texas Dimwit. (Hey, animals know well enough to stay away from them.)

And on a related topic, where are all the people who were screeching about the opening of black bear season in New Jersey a few months ago? A bear can be just as dangerous as a snake if you piss it off. But then, rattlesnakes aren't cute and fuzzy, so killing them is okay.

Don't Twead On Me!

34. so killing them is okay.
Some of the snakes are killed and eaten at the round-ups ( yes, there are more than just Sweetwaters round-up )Most are shipped to the Cancer research center in Kingsville TX, where they are kept alive and milked. From what they told me, their developing a process where they use the venom to consume cancerous tumors form the inside out. I guess they just inject it into the tumor.

42. Are snakes comfortable living so closely?
I've always wondered that when I've seen pictures like that were snakes were literally living on top of each other. Do they do that naturually ? Does that lead to violence and cannabilism? I don't think that they are social creatures.
