The way things should have been
I began a short-term creative temping gig this morning (so far, I'll be here through Friday). I can say, without a shadow of a doubt, that I got more out of today than I got out of more than a year-and-a-half at my former employer. This isn't to sell short the friends I made there or the work I did. It just felt good to be in an environment where what you do (graphic design) isn't foreign, isn't something the rest of the office thinks they can do.

So, for every time I was asked to "jazz this up" or "make it snazzy," I can only say this: Stuff it. I just had to get that off my chest. It feels good to be valued within an organization. Too bad it's taken a temp job to show me that.
