What I will do with the $350 I won last night. A sign of the times:
Last night at bowling, I and another woman split a $700 pot we won on a "big house mystery". This is where everyone in the bowling ally puts in $2, and during the second game of league bowling, a number is drawn. If this number matches the score we bowled on our 1st game, we win.

So, I now have $350 extra dollars this week. Now, if I had won this during the Clinton years, I would have gone on a shopping spree, bought something extra for the house, or given it to my son. But, it's not the Clinton years---it's the bush years. So, this money will go on a $500 dollar dentist bill for my husband. To me, this is a sign of the times. When we hope for a windfall--not to enjoy--but to help us just get by.

What would you do with and extra $350 this week?

1. I'm in a similar situation...
I'm waiting for about $800 that the state has for me in its unclaimed money department. I owe medical bills, but first I need to buy a small air conditioner and if there's anything left it will go for bills. I had such a miserable summer last year with no a/c that I just can't face it again:(

2. I am one of the few lucky ones that are doing
very very well the last couple years. What am I spending my money on? Paid off credit cards, trying to pay off my car & house, and I just bought $1000.00 worth of emergency food. I'm also looking at buying gold/silver so when this thing tips over completely I'll hopefully have SOMETHING of value that I can live on.

7. probably also dental care, currently being put off due to lack of funds
If not for that necessity, pay part of overdue bills, or some of the interest on my crushing debt. Yay.
