3. They're Japanese ladybugs.
They've wiped out the native population in the Upper Midwest. No idea why they bite, but they do.

30. I swear I got bit by a ladybug when I was about 8
and I have not trusted them since. "I was just a skinny lad never knew no good from bad but I knew life before I left my nursery ..." That was in 1970 or so, long before the onslaught of the dreaded Japanese Beatle.
