Just had a little earthquake
Like 20 seconds ago.

I'm guessing 3.1. We'll see in a couple minutes.

4. Oh, yeah
House shook once — a nice little bump.

Okay, I was a little off; 2.8. But it was closer than I thought.

Hardly worth talkin' about.

3. ANSS has it as a 2.8
But that would be a very small one to feel unless you are right on top of it.

about your stupid snow, so it's equal time.

I can't figure how I didn't notice the 4.3 early this morning. I was awake, and a 4.3 is a decent shake.

'Course, I was stoned on Vicodin...

BTW, how much Vicodin does it take to get to the point where one doesn't feel pain? I'm not there yet.

25. You probably will
Most people do the first few times.

We had a reporter from Wisconsin a few years ago, and one day there was a pretty good one... 4.8, I think. Soon as it was over, I said, "Okay, people, let's get to work" — meaning it was a big enough quake that there might be some minor damage and we needed to get on the phones, get a photographer out, etc.

But Kollin just sat there, shaking.

N00bs. :eyes:

28. I try to deal with my fear in a rational manner.

I managed to get through the Chesapeake Bay Tunnels without freaking out. I'm working on that one because it's a fairly new phobia.
NSMA once mentioned being on a bridge during a quake. :scared: BTW I love bridges.

Are the Chesapeake Bay Tunnels as long as (gulp) the Chesapeake Bay Bridge? :scared:

34. There are 3 bridges which are miles long. If a ship is passing it's weird.
The optical illusion is that you're going to crash into it.

The two tunnels are only a little over a mile each. Yes, I did check my odometer on the way in and out of both. I was thinking about going through on a trike trip but when I lowered a window while I was in the second tunnel the air pressure and vibrations were too unsettling. I may take the ferry instead.

I have some great pictured of different suspension bridges. :)

35. I've got one right in front of me
of the Golden Gate Bridge during construction. There's some surf fishermen in the foreground. It's an old black-and-white blown up to poster size.

The one I really love is a print of an original architect's sketch of the Brooklyn Bridge. I had that one framed.

42. One bridge up in Delaware triggered memories of past companions.

There I was tooling along the road listening to some novel being read to me when like a huge shock wave the unbidden thoughts of old lovers hit like a ton of bricks. x( sigh

45. I feel the earth move...

I feel the earth move under my feet
I feel the sky tumbling down, tumbling down
I feel my heart start to trembling
Whenever you're around

Ooh, baby, when I see your face
Mellow as the month of May
Oh, darling, I can't stand it
When you look at me that way

I feel the earth move under my feet
I feel the sky tumbling down, tumbling down
I feel my heart start to trembling
Whenever you're around

Oh, darling, when you're near me
And you tenderly call my name
I know that my emotions
Are something I just can't tame
I've just got to have you, baby

I feel the earth move under my feet
I feel the sky tumbling down, tumbling down
I feel the earth move under my feet
I feel the sky tumbling down
I just lose control
Down to my very soul
I get a hot and cold all over
I feel the earth move under my feet
I feel the sky tumbling down,
Tumbling down, tumbling down...
