7. Usually that is correct
but in this case, not. The HHGTTG was originally written for the radio.

17. I didn't say the books came first
I said, when asked for an opinion, that none of the other forms offered by the OP lived up to the books. ?

which is what I thought this thread was asking for...

Dropping out now. Not going to argue about opinions.

Is this not the case?

5. Actually the radio series is better
It was a radio series before it was a book. There is much more stuff in the radio series than was put into the book.

The book is still great, though.

10. From the BBC
You might find it on a website, but not legally. The copyright on the recording is owned by the BBC. They want you to buy the CDs, of course... ;)

23. The movie version was good
Edited on Fri Apr-28-06 10:39 AM by mduffy31
I love Marvin with Alan Rickman's voice, am a big fan of Martin Freeman (he ruined the Office USA version for me), and I am in love with Zooey Deschanel so for me it was a hattrick. On edit: I forgot about Mos Def, he is fantastic in this movie.

25. I think you need a open mind.
That a movie is a movie and a book is a book. No matter what topic, those are always going to be separate entities.

30. I gave up after about half an hour
because it was deviating too much from the book

maybe it was true to the radio series but I have not heard that.

The Vogons were pretty funny, and the effects were better than the TV show, although Marvin still looked ridiculous.

Book first, radio second, tv show third, movie if you must.

The radio show came first, but i think the book goes better when read to begin with

29. Enjoy!
It's a great read. I don't know how it compares to the Radio show I've never heard it but even Adams said that all the incarnations are pretty much new creations of thier own so they each stand alone very well I think.
