This is one time I don't mind paying large shipping charges on EBay
Edited on Sun Jun-04-06 03:02 PM by CatWoman
I just bought this cat tree:

My winning bid was $10.50. Shipping is $73.42. Grand total: $83.92

Ordinarily I stay away and/or shun large shipping fees. But this is completely reasonable, in that the starting bid was only .99.

Similar cat trees at Pet Smart and Pet Co go for AT LEAST $299.

P.S. hat tip to the DUers who turned me onto this Ebay seller :hi:

I don't have any Futurama on DVD.

12. Maybe I should by one of those.
I might get a decent night's sleep with the cats playing on that instead of chasing eachother up and down the stairs. x(

I'd be happy for some time.

But, until then, there's that brown paper bag...

17. there are certain times when it's just unavoidable
I once shipped a 30-lb cement satirical lawn ornament of George W. Bush to friends in Texas. The freight was a killer, BUT they were so thrilled that it was definitely worth it. That was several years ago, and they still talk about it! If you cannot get the item any other way, or if the overall differential is significant (as in your case with the cat tree), it becomes part of the total cost and one has no regrets.

18. Serendipitous!
I was just weaving in and out of threads when I found this one--was amazed at the piece and the price it went for, checked the buyer on Ebay, and came out with this 2 minutes ago:

73 inches tall, looks like fun...

Winning bid?

0.99 cents

I paid 69.50 total.

My kitty is in for a treat.

19. I got that one last year
from the same people on e-bay...the cats live on the top and the cubby while the ferrets took over the rest of it. It was suppose to be a place the cats could get away from the ferrets and after about a week they divided it up into territories and all love it. Was easy to put together and still in great shape though I did replace the hanging toys with ferret safe ones.
