I've no idea about the Rove thing. I'd say anyone who has worked at Patton Boggs over the past month knows more than than anyone else about what did or didn't happen; from what I understand, the handsome ( *swoon* ) Mr. Fitz wasn't seen there during the critical period in question. ;)

I really adore his attorney. Bob Luskin is a sweetheart. And I saw Karl in by the elevators once. But no, I was never privy to anything about that case. Nunna my biz, sweetie.

No, I think it was just generally surmised that because I was quitting one job and looking for another that I'd have a new job by the time I quit the old. But I decided instead (with support - and an actual strong suggestion - from Mrs. V.) to take some time off. At least a month. To de-stress.

33. I survived Camille and Betsy in Bay St. Louis, though I was four during

Camille, and just a few months old for Betsy. My father owned a service station on 90 and Nicholson Avenue. It's an Exxon now (well, a shell of an Exxon station), but it was a Gulf station then, and we lived in a house next door to it. My parents had a little red brick house on 603 just above 90 during Betsy. We looked it up after the hurricane, and found a pile of rubble. I went to school a few years in Pass Christian, at Coast Episcopal, when it was a high school, though I lived up Highway 49, around the Lyman/Saucier area, from the time I was five.

I saw a lot of flooded and washed out cars on 603 about a week after Katrina. For some reason I remember a Honda Insight sitting in the water around the Jordain River.

Did you stay in Bay St. Louis for Katrina?

34. Yes, in my daughter's house at top of hill by the bridge...

behind Chapel Hill homes.  High point and we still had water
over the cars and at least 3-feet in house.  And yes, 603 is
where all the cars were parked to keep them 'safe'.  My
youngest dau. and her husband drove in 1-week later at night
to get me, saw all those cars in the dark mist and were scared
to death.  Too many strange sites, houses on the highway, cars
in the water and a boat in the Burger King drive-thru.

I was just there last weekend. Drove to the Bay, stood just north of 90 staring out at the bridge, then explored along Beach Blvd (or what's left of it). I can't begin to imagine what you must have gone through. That was ground zero. ANd all those beautiful houses washed away. Are you still out there?
