2. Rather inelegantly put, but I get the picture.
I was just listening to a lot of Billy Preston last week, because my daughter fell in love with Orlando Brown's cover of "Will It Go Round in Circles?" The guy knew how to write a funky tune.

18. He was great in the Concert for George, too.
He knew how to steal the show without being obvious about it. Totally underrated as a performer and writer. He's probably going to be much better appreciated now than he was while alive.

22. He really was a Zelig of pop music.
He really did play with almost everybody. Except maybe the Sex Pistols and Ramones. But he probably would've.

12. How about he "died" or passed away?
I try not to be a prude, but I just think irreverence shouldn't be applied to people's death. Especially those who didn't cause widespread dmage and did nothing but bring good music into the world.

10. Or . . . Singer Billy Preston, 59, has died of kidney failure
in Scottsdale, AZ.

After a kidney transplant failed in 2002, he had been treated with dialysis and slipped into a coma last November, from which he never awoke.

Or something like that?

24. I'll be playing Outa Space! And also, With You I'm Born Again, the
duet with Syreeta. I love those two songs as well, but I don't have them. I love funk! I love Billy Preston! Rest in peace.

21. He was great in the Concert Tribute to George Harrison
One of the all time best live concert albums, with everyone singing George's songs, including Billy, Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney, Ringo and an all star line up.

Billy sang "Isn't It A Pity", his performance brings tears to your eyes, its so beautiful. If you haven't seen it, rent or buy it.

http://www.pbs.org/wnet/gperf/shows/concertgeorge/songlist.html

Isn't it a pity
Now, isn't it a shame
How we break each other's hearts
And cause each other pain
How we take each other's love
Without thinking anymore
Forgetting to give back
Isn't it a pity

Some things take so long
But how do I explain
When not too many people
Can see we're all the same
And because of all their tears
Their eyes can't hope to see
The beauty that surrounds them
Isn't it a pity

Isn't it a pity
Isn't is a shame
How we break each other's hearts
And cause each other pain
How we take each other's love
Without thinking anymore
Forgetting to give back
Isn't it a pity

Forgetting to give back
Isn't it a pity
Forgetting to give back
Now, isn't it a pity

23. Billy sang "My sweet Lord" too
It was a great version.

That is the second one from that show Jim Capaldi died in 2005.
