6. Ah...nice touch there! I never saw scrapple dressed up in such an
endearing manner! You see...thats the type of thing you would see in a fine French restaurant....I'll just eat the stuff between two pieces of potato bread ( and maybe with some cheese ). Have you ever had it?

13. I tried it for the first time earlier this year
and thought it was just okay. I didn't know it would be so much like dog food. I would have it again if it was someone's - or some place's - specialty, but wouldn't actually seek it out.

15. Believe it or not, there are certain grades to the stuff....for example
if you go out to Lancaster, PA...the Amish make one hell of a scrapple. Sometimes you can buy lousy scrapple at the local supermarket, but just like hot dogs ( sometimes too mushy ) you can strike out. Just the smell of this stuff cooking in the morning with some eggs is enough to make me jump out of bed. Mind you, I'm the type that hits the snooze button in increments of 20 minutes....

20. me
and my husband. Can't get it here so I found a recipe for it... haven't made any yet since I don't really want to dwell on what goes into it.My in-laws always have some waiting for us when we're back visiting.

So does anyone outside of Pennsylvania know what Scrapple is? I've mentioned it to people from various places and they all look at me blankly and say "never heard of it".

I had grown a tail or something...had absolutely no frigging clue what I was talking about. When I told them what it was, they seemed repulsed

what scrapple is. When I was a child and living in South Florida, my mother would serve it quite often.

26. Eewwww!
I tried eating poultry again. It worked for a bit. Then I found a tiny feather on a chicken wing. That was the permanent end.

No way I could consume the shit in scrapple.

31. I would try it if it were made from sausage
(but then, sausage is probably made from all the stuff scrapple is made from too?)

Sausage and cornmeal, that doesn't sound so bad.

32. Ugh
I never heard of the stuff when I lived in New England. Then I moved to the Mid-Atlantic and began hearing about it. I decided to check it out when I was in the grocery store one day and was grossed out by the grayish brick of stuff I saw. My theory on Scrapple is that it's made from the scraps that fall on the processing-room floor, mixed in with the dirt that gets swept up along with them. Hence the name "Scrapple". x(

I'm in North Jersey and I've never seen scrapple anywhere. Although, that's much closer to New England than most of the mid-Atlantic.
