Poll question: Ticketmaster: Thieves or capitalists
Edited on Sat Jun-10-06 01:28 AM by electricmonk
I was going to buy tickets to a concert online and the club uses Ticketmaster. Tickets $12, "convenience charge" $6 plus an undisclosed "processing fee per order".

I've bought tickets from other online vendors and only paid a dollar or two extra for the service. 50%+ of the price seems a bit on the extortion side to me.

edit: damn dyslexia even spell check didn't catch it.
edit again: I'll get it right eventually.

4. Oh and be sure to watch your credit card statements when you use them!
There might just start showing up a monthly fee from "Entertainment Rewards". It is a $9 (if I remember correctly) charge. Very hard to stop!

5. eTix got me with that
Learned to read the fine print after that. It was buried about 3 pages down on an outrageously long acceptence form. Got it off my card after 2 months of charges.

6. Both
Sure, they're ripping us off big time. But like dumbasses we keep paying their prices. And something is only worth what you're willing to pay for it.

7. I haven't paid the price yet
I think I'm going to wait to see if the show sells out. If not I'll pay at the door, if so too bad for me. I'll just be out the gas money from Northern Va to Baltimore.
