Conversation with my 10 year old
I was watching a movie with the 10 yr old when he **ahem** passed gas. I said "Yuck! why did you do that?"

He looks at me with the most serious look on his face and quietly says "If you don't let it out, bad things happen. Very. Bad. Things."

3. Heh....
At my house, they all just point to each other and eventually wind up blaming whichever cat's the closest.

Poor kitties. First to be gassed and then blamed for it. As if the kids are really fooling anyone...

Ever notice though, when they're tiny little babies and they pass gas, it's just the Cutest thing ever...it's a monumental occasion...it's something bragged about (okay...maybe not Bragged about, except to grandparents and other equally impressed parties).

Then...when they're toddlers, it's funny. They look surprised that that actually came from Them and they giggle and you giggle and it's still kind of cute.

Finally, at some point...and I can't quite put my finger on when it happens...it stops being cute. Isn't funny. Instead of laughing and giggles, it elicits stares and wrinkled noses and 'ewwwwwwwww'.

No wonder the poor kids are confused...talk about your mixed messages.
