1. Good morning, my dear Aristus!
And how true that is!

Beautifully done, as usual, sweetie!

I just LOVED you on Jeopardy last night!

I think you did wonderfully well, sweetie!

It was great to see and hear you in something like real time, too!

:loveya:

4. Thank you, CalPeg.
I was surprised to see so many DU-ers chiming in. If you're gonna have people in your corner, you can't beat the kind of people here at DU. It was very gratifying.

3. Lol. Now that is appropriate.
I was only able to catch the last few minutes of Jeopardy. Looks like you were doing fantastic until that Final Jeopardy question.

6. Oh God, you SAW that?
I'm still kicking myself over that, and the taping was two months ago. The problem is that I concentrated on the political quote, instead of the dates of birth. If I had done that, I probably would have got the question right. Even then, I still would have lost because the champion was so far out ahead.

Still, I had a terrific time, and it was great having the DU-ers there to cheer me on. Thanks. :-)

8. It looked like you were only a few thousand dollars apart.
You know, when you're sitting comfortably at home, it seems easy to carefully consider any clues that might be hidden in the "answer". But I can't imagine how much pressure there is actually competing in front of an audience of millions and trying to discover all of the nuances.

I was the captain of my "Prep Quiz Bowl" team in New Orleans in the late seventies, and at the final taping, after two previous days of beating the competition, I choked. Couldn't bring myself to answer a question about a book that I had READ. And our principal, who thought we would take it all, was angry with me for not getting the question that he knew I knew. I got a kick out of it though, partly because I was the only one with long hair and a beard while all of the others were well-scrubbed and suited.

7. Wonderfully accurate!
And you know I think you did a terrific job on Jeopardy
last night!

I would have been too nervous to speak, much less think.

:D

9. Thank you.
You couldn't see my hands, could you? They were shaking like crazy. I asked my wife later if you could see that from the audience, and she said no; she said I looked cool, calm, and collected. I sure didn't feel like it! :-)

14. By the way, what are those morans trying to say?
Those morans really do embody hatred, intolerance, and bigotry. Everything this nation abhors.

What is Alex Trabek like in person?

13. Fascinating and thought provoking as always, Aristus.
THAT is a true desecration of the American flag.

15. good job on the show
and now I offer you thus

If there be devils, would I were a devil,
To live and burn in everlasting fire,
So I might have your company in hell,
But to torment you with my bitter tongue!
