I'm going to buy "The Hornet's Nest" by President Carter.
He had me at "hello". Actually, when he mentioned the Battle of King's Mountain, NC, I really got interested. Those folks organized for that particularly vicious little struggle about 2 miles up the road from me, at Sycamore Shoals and Fort Watauga, here in present day Elizabethton, Tennessee.

That battle is re-enacted every year. Absolutely bloody struggle between Patriots and Brit sympathizers.

2. revolutionary war
not civil war. It does sound interesting though. It is his first fiction work. BTW you can see the repeat of Larry King Live where Carter is interviewed at midnight eastern.

3. It's a novel about the Revolutionary War.
And yep, he wrote it. The first work of fiction by a President, living or dead, unless you count campaign promises and spending plans.

4. That was a good interview...
Sometimes Larry King does a good job. Carter is such a wise man -- contrast that with that nincompoop from Texas.

5. I was struck by that too.
I was trying to remember what it was like to have a REAL President, instead of an unelected corporate fraud.
