Man have I had a crappy day!!!!
Seriously...sometimes I wonder why I bother!!

Some of you may remember me and several other co-workers were laid off by a public memo a couple weeks ago.
Then this week on the new "end of week" memo the sales department reached their goal!!! What wonderous news to give to people who have just been laid off!!!!
And then, last week I had applied for and gotten an interview at the same company for a full time position. I felt the interview went great, I had asked two "higher-up's" speak to the person doing the hiring if they could put a good word in for me to which they did enthusiastically! I thought, "how can I lose?"
I asked at the end of the interview when she would be making her decision, and she said by the end of the week. That was last week.
So, after a lot of lost sleep and worry I called today to find out what the deal was. Lo and behold she already had someone start on Monday, someone from outside the company!!!!
I am so out of this place. They don't deserve to exist, they couldn't manage their way out of a wet paper bag, I swear. Degrees shmegrees!!!!
Resumes shall be fllying out the door come tomorrow and into the New Year...
And then, on top of this, I got my digital camera (my parents gift to us for Christmas) and everytime I plug the USB cable to my computer it reboots spontaneously!!!

Wow do I need a dandelion break, a shot of something (even though I don't drink right now due to medical reason) and a puff of some kindness ( none around :-()

Sigh....

Sorry, just needed to rant I guess.

2. Make that three of us!
You know......with all the talented and currently unemployed people here on DU ...you'd think there would be a business opportunity for all of us united......

My sympathies friend.

6. Oh man, that's tough!
I had a bad day too, so I totally sympathize. I'm luckier than you in the job department, my family was the source of my misery today. I think when you keep getting hit with bad things, it gets really easy to believe that things will never get better. But things like this are usually temporary. :-)

it this shall pass....it will take a day or so to wallow in some self-pity, then I will come back stronger and more determined.

Mean people suck, it's true, but Karma..well..it all comes around one way or another.

8. People do suck
Particularly those who specialize in "management". ;-)

You deserve your moment of self-pity. It's part of the process that ends up making you stronger, ala Nietzsche. Why I'm not Wonder Woman by now completely eludes me.

Enjoy your wallowing...I'm actually thinking of joining you. Along with some nice Pierre Ferrand Ambre to take the chill off. :toast:

9. I am so sorry
You sound like you are having a real run of bad luck. At least you can find kindness and compassion from your friends on DU. Here's hoping with the New Year, things will turn around for you.:grouphug:
