Jama now has an oven. Any baking recipes?
After two years of trying to cook on the stove only without using that old oven that smelled funky, I finally went and did it. Yesterday, I got an oven. Now, I'm ready to start planning some nice meals for this fall and winter. I always get the urge to bake in the fall and winter months, but since we moved here, that old oven stunk so bad, we couldn't hardly stand to be in the place when I tried to even toast bread in there. Now, I want recipes galore. Stuff with chicken in it, some sweets, but not many sweets, a good quiche recipe, and anything else cheap and easy to cook would be greatly appreciated.

take two fillets or steaks, put them in a baking dish, sprinkle them with fresh rosemary, squeeze the juice of one lemon over them and cover the whole thing with sliced lemon. cover with foil and bake for 30-45 mins at 350, serve with brown rice and a fresh veggie.

chicken enchilada casserole:
cube chicken breast or thigh, cook on stove
mix chicken with a couple cans of cream of chicken soup, a can or two of green chiles and some milk (1/2 to a whole can) i also like to toss in a cup or two of cooked rice and maybe some grated cheese

layer with corn tortillas in a casserole dish

bake at 350 for 30 mins, top with cheese

happy cooking!

3. Baked pumpkin
Small pumpkins. Take out the seeds. Fill with apples, raisins, pecans, brown sugar and spices. Bake for an hour at 350. Scoop the insides out and serve with ice cream or frozen yogurt on top. Hmmm Hmmm.

For fish, spread some light blue cheese dressing on both sides, bake at 350 for 10-15 minutes.

4. Make yourself a lasanga.
Basically, choose some fillings (veges and savoury mince is usually good) and whatnot, make sure they are moist and suitable for cooking between pasta.

Then get some lasanga sheets and put some filling in the bottom of the pan.

Then layer the dish in pasta, and put filling on top. Repeat.

Then put a little cheese over the top layer.

Bake until brown! (Sorry I can't tell you the temp but I don't know it in Yankish)
