I don't disagree with him, he's probably armed.

1. Mutual assured destruction?
Worked between superpowers, though does not seem to work between individuals.

15. doesn't work for individuals because mutual destruction is not assured by
mere firearms. So clearly what we need is for each person to have a nuclear bomb with them at all times, with a dead-man's switch or whatever, so that it goes off if their brainwaves stop suddenly.

Of course, that would suck for anyone in the general vicinity of a fatal car accident....

3. I wish that people would wear their guns like in the old west
belted around their waist, tied down for a quick draw. Then we would know who to stay away from, these people salivate at the idea of pulling their heater out from wherever it's hidden and blasting away.

It's a pacifist's utopia over there, all rightie!

7. He doesn't want to believe that our troops have killed
innocent civilians.

Talk about denial.

8. Nope, that's right. This is the first empire in history
where the colonisers are nice to the natives.

10. Well of course they aren't innocent--they're Iraqis, aren't they?
They knew that they were Iraqis when they left the house this morning, so they were clearly asking for it.

And if they'd have been armed, then no violence would have occurred.

Jeez--you just don't get it!

11. Exactly!
That's how crime rates go down after everyone has killed everyone else. That or we fire the official responsible for allowing the stats to build. That or we redefine what crimes are...

14. Whenever I hear this argument
I think of the bit in "The Rabbit of Seville" where Bugs and Elmer chase each other back and forth across the stage, each time coming back with a larger-caliber gun.

16. Yeah, but they ended up getting married.
B-)

So gun use leads to matrimony. Can't you see the cause-and-effect at work here. Sheesh! :eyes:

17. Yes, but
Bugs de-escalated by bringing candy and flowers instead of a larger weapon.

So, someone has to employ deténte.

Nobody thinks of these things anymore...

20. It cracks me up having a concealed handgun law (CHL) here in Tx
I actually know a guy whose motorcycle license plate is: CHL - YES

Doesn't that defeat the purpose of carrying a concealed gun?
