1. SPOILER ALERT........for those not on central
coast time....

How often are we going to revist the plane crash?

It looks like the Dharma folks lived in a co-housing type situation. Of course it's being portrayed as controlling when it really is not.

Edited on Thu Oct-05-06 12:12 PM by elocs
she was the love interest of Ed Stevens on the mostly comedy hour long series called "Ed" that was on NBC and ran from 2000 to 2004. That series also had the guy (Nathan) from the tail and got thrown into the pit and had his neck broken by one of the Others was supposedly was helping him to escape. Unrelated to Lost, "Ed" also had the Mac guy (Justin Long) from the pc/Mac guys tv commercials.

25. Lost is going the way of Twin Peaks - I give it one more season
Edited on Thu Oct-05-06 08:05 AM by LynneSin
Even though I'm boycotting ABC, I justified watching some of it because at least ABC News is persuing the Foley story.

I grew very bored very quickly. After awhile I just went and took a bath and got ready for bed so I could head there after Project Runway was complete.

I loved Twin Peaks when it first came out and even season 2 was good. But by the 3rd season they just started trying too hard to make it quirky and it got really boring really quickly. I've already given up on Desparate Housewives sometime mid last season, and I think after this one episode I'm done with Lost.

But if I ever run out of Lunesta, I'll just spend an hour watching that - it'll have me asleep in like 5 minutes

51. Season 2 was better than Season 1
I didn't really think so at first, but my friends and I rewatched both seasons over the last month. When you see all of Season 2 consecutively without repeats, commercials, etc., it's incredibly well-done, well-written and well-performed -- moreso than the first season.

54. I agree with that
It's just that it was new in Season 1. I will say I enjoyed the character development of Sun and Jun ALOT in S1.... but Michael got on my damn nerves too much... as did Boone. And, they were in S1 too much for me.

"My boy! Walt! My boy! My boy Walt!"

I find both Rousseau and the Others REALLY interesting. As well as Mr. Eko.

I wished they had cast Eliza Dushku as Ana Lucia (okay, she would have needed a name change), and done more with the storyline. Not a "redemption" thing... I actually don't think she needed to be redeemed in any way. But, a character who ought to be sympathetic but isn't, and who has a certain survival instinct that the Lostaways don't. And, I would have liked to have seen a platonic relationship form between both that character and Said.

30. There's a Sawyer (SPOILER FOR A FUTURE EPISODE)
flashback coming up in a few weeks... I wonder if we'll see them hooked up??? If Eliz. Mitchell is a real psychiatrist/therapist, she could have connections with a bunch of Losties: Jack, Libby, Hurley, Desmond... maybe even Sawyer. What happened to him between his parents' deaths and his con man act? Did he sleep with her? Did he go to therapy? Hmmm...

But the way, I LOVE EM, and am so glad she's on this show!

28. From what I have read on other boards,
there are a good number of LOST fans that are very disenchanted with the series. I can see it really start to go downhill in the ratings this season. I am only marginally interested anymore. They are adding so many more unanswered questions, twists, and characters that it will be impossible to tie it all up. If this show makes it through 5 seasons it will be surprising.

39. I gave it all last season and was not satisfied.
I have a friend for whom I used to record the episodes onto a dvd and she lost interest halfway through last season. Lost may keep the hardcore fans, but many others are dropping away. You can only be strung along so far without getting answers and some old plot ends tied up. I am on the very edge now of giving up on Lost, but I will give it a while long. If it gets too silly and stupid, it is on ABC after all.

48. It's the Twin Peaks of the 21st Century
I actually watched about 30 minutes then grew extremely bored. Suddenly there are all these new people I'm suppose to be interested in instead of the ones that I have known since the beginning of the show. And I hate to say it - the flashback stuff is growing quite old on me. It was a nice feature the first year and obviously with the new members who joined in season #2 we had to give some of them their story (Although they totally wasted the Libby character). And that village in the middle of the jungle was something straight out of M. Night Shamalyn's "The Village"

:bored:

Perhaps I'll watch next week just to see if they show the other members but personally this show will be gone by season #4. This is the problem that Twin Peaks dealt with - they were so damn quirky and kept you guessing that first season with plenty of twists & turns that you turned in each week. But by the end of the 2nd season they lost their main storyline (Who Killed Laura - we knew by then) and too many characters were being added to the cast.

55. Sissy, I must disagree with you here
David Lynch used TP as intellectual masturbation -- he had no idea what he was doing... which sucked, because it was so good in the beginning! I think the Lost dudes -- like JK Rowling -- know the ending, and most of the answers.

Au contraire about Libby: she will have a decently large part this season -- she will be "filling in the gaps" to many storylines.

WTF are my pies!!!

And, remmeber one thing: THE OWLS ARE NOT WHAT THEY SEEM!!!

Hey, aren't you an ANTM fan? Whatcha think of this years crop? Personally I think Tyra has been spoiling them too much giving them the big fancy place in LA with the Escalade SUV. I think she should move them back into the overcrowded apartments they used back in NYC.

Yes, it should have ended when they found out who killed Laura. It would have been remembered fondly as one of the best tv series. Agent Washington was such a great character. By the end of Twin Peaks I was so disappointed in it and at the way which David Lynch seem to say to fans of the show: "Screw you!"

44. BTW- Lost runs until late November
then ABC replaces it with a 13 week show starring Tye Diggs and THEN in February Lost comes back straight through May. Seems that the chatrooms and fan boards made it very clear that they would rather see nothing than to see reruns even if they ADVERTISED THAT THEY WERE RERUNS so ABC is doing what they are told. very interesting.

Oh there will be a mid season cliff hanger on the last show in November.

53. I keep watching because I'm a sucker
They're raising too many questions, and answering too few. A good serial mystery brings up questions, answers them, but the answers raise other questions. Doing it well is very tricky, which is why most people find mystery stories hackneyed. Most of them are.

I'm sticking around purely because I want to see how the show crashes and burns, and not be lost as to what is going on when it does. I do enjoy watching it, but I think they're digging themselves into a hole.

I'm such a sucker. I really honestly truly believe they're making it up as they go along, and that they have no idea how to solve previous questions, the ones that they actually recall, and that there is no way possible for them to actually answer the questions reasonably.

Yet I can't look away.

It's horribly contrived, poorly plotted, and ramshackle. Yet it's very compelling.
