Damn — headache
The kind that'll keep me awake either way, because I have to medicate it with Excedrin. I already took my last Vicodin.

Anybody around who can help take my mind off it?

Would it help if I  ?

2. Well,
I can't help but give you a finger wagging for wasting your Vicodins on "recreational" use. If you hadn't done that you'd have some left now for your headache.

But now that I'm done with that... I can definitely feel for you being a migraineur. I wish I could send a Vicodin through the Internet "tubes" for you.

Would thinking of sexy women dancing nude help?

3. I rarely recreate with 'em
(Funny... in my head, that came out like Elmer Fudd.)

I've been having a run of late-night back pain for the last... christ, quite awhile. It's not a great deal of pain, but it keeps me awake. Vicodin relaxes the offending muscles as well as my brain and, often as not, lets me pop my back for further relief.

And, just 'tween you 'n' me, it's also rare that I take an entire Vicodin. My normal dose is half a 5-milligram tab. Yeah, I'm a lightweight.

This stupid headache just snuck up on me. I don't get many like this anymore. x(

Now... which women?

8. Lucy's good
Although I question her sanity, since it's been raining and she still wants to go outside.

Haven't tinked much with the truck lately. Couple weeks ago I fixed an exhaust leak — had a blown header gasket, and I replaced both of 'em with layered-aluminum gaskets. That was such a pain in the ass that I haven't wanted to mess with it much since.

It did lead me, though, to getting a busted exhaust hanger re-welded, so now the tailpipes hang evenly again. I oughta put chrome tips on 'em, huh?

14. I think that's an old wives tale.

Personally, I think it would be nicer to curl up in front of the fireplace with a saucer of warm milk than chase mice and such on a wet morning but it's all a matter of your point of view. For a young cat like Lucy that might be boring.

Three or four months or so.

Maybe they realized what they're up against — the Blitzkat — and fell back and established a new perimeter.

Or maybe she et 'em all.

19. Or maybe she's made pets outta 'em!

My Dad laughed his ass off at our tomcat Skipper one night. You see ... Skipper used to bring home squirrels so we thought he was the great hunter. Then late one night my stepmother walked into the closet scaring the bejeebus out of a little mouse. The mouse ran straight to Skipper and curled up under his chin, between his paws, and just stared at Ruth. I guess they had a special understanding.

42. Whenever my childhood pal and I were taking off on one of our
long horseback rides in the late afternoon, his dad would wave at us and say, "Be back before breakfast!" ;)

My bedtime as a kid was 9 p.m., same as my brother who was three years older. Guess that was one time I actually benefited from rules made for him that applied to me!

Don't ever remember having to go to bed while it was still light outside ... I'm a lifelong insomniac and nighthawk anyway, so that would have been hell. Often I can't get to sleep before one or two a.m., but now that I'm a "senior" I seem to be waking up regularly at THREE a.m.! Makes for some mighty short nights....!

I don't remember most of my childhood but there was this one time when I woke up from a nightmare one night and freaked because I thought I was home alone. I wasn't, my parents were sitting next door having a beer. Oopsie I ran over to the other neighbor's house. Boy were they mad at me! :( I was always in trouble for something.

that and the storms stirred up lots of allergens. I had a nightmare that I couldn't breath and woke up with a bad asthma episode. At least my dreams wake me up in time.

Gracie's still sick and I'm not sure what to do about her. I have to put drops in her ear twice a day but she hides and if I can get the drops in her ear, she shakes her head and liquid flies everywhere. There's some stuff coming out of her ear and matting the fur around it, so I know the infection's still there. It's hard trying to handle her alone. Lelapin used to hold her for me. (Gracie won't let Lelapin come near her!)

Sorry to ramble. I'm tired.

:(

20. Ew
I've never experienced it, but I can imagine not being able to breathe — or, at least thinking you can't — is hellaciously scary.

I had a similar problem with Lucy some time back. Her paw got cut in a fight, or so the vet figured, and I had to give her a liquid antibiotic. The vet told me the trick about wrapping her in a towel to keep her legs contained and sticking the dropper in the side of her mouth, but it was still quite a job without an assistant.

I guess she liked the taste of the stuff, though (it looked and smelled like Pepto-Bismol) because the more I did it, the easier it got.

I think we need to be rougher with our creatures than we want to be at times like this, since we love 'em and stuff. But if you watch how the vet handles 'em, they keep pretty still and don't seem to mind the extra forcefulness.

Gracie's just pretty. :loveya:

23. Gracie thanks you
and you're right. I need to be more agressive with her when it comes to these drops. She could lose her hearing or worse. Besides, she's 8 pounds and I'm - bigger. I can take her. ;)

She's funny. She even sees the bottle in my hand and she's under the couch. Little goof.

The only way I can describe asthma to someone who doesn't have it? It's like someone's holding you under water and you can't breathe. I've been lucky. At night, the dreams always wake me up.

How's you head, friend? :pals:

27. I've tried to imagine that
Sometimes at night I'll think about what it's like to not be able to breathe — at all. Like if all of a sudden there just were. no. air. Or if I were trapped underwater.

:scared:

But, hey — I popped my neck a few minutes ago. Headache's goin' away. :bounce:

34. That's why I love Vicodin
My headaches are almost always of the "tension" variety — or, at least, I react to them by tightening my neck, shoulders and TMJ. Two and a half milligrams o' Vikes relax the muscles just enough that I can pop whatever needs popping — or, if the muscle tension's the problem, it takes care o' that.

It also puts me in a really good mood. But that's not why I take it.
