My friend's father died a couple days ago

and she's packing to go home for a few days. I got the e-mail this past morning. My mom helped me with ideas. I got the address and ordered a fruit basket. It should be there today.

I know that there's nothing I can do beyond offer assistance. Other than that, I can only wait for her to return. I've found that in trying times, knowing that someone actually cares, even if the offer is not used, means a lot. :)

1. ..
 to you and your friend. Just being there for her is more than many expect and appreciate it to limits you have no idea of.

My condolences to your friend.

Jenn

4. The hardest thing is that...
I have to obey the Prime Directive (yes, from Star Trek) and not call. Having been involved with a funeral in the past, a lot has to be done in a little time adding to a massive amount of stress. Spare time to chit-chat is just not available. :(
