25th Anniversary of Warren Beatty's REDS
There is an AWSOME interview in this months issue of Premiere (with Daniel Craig on the cover) on Warren Beatty. I have been a HUGE Beatty fan for years and IMO, believe he is one of the very best around working today. As a Director, he is perfection. Every shot looks like an award winning photograph. From the style and comic book feel and look of DICK TRACY to the political satire of BULWORTH, Beatty is one of the best.

Next Week REDS comes out on dvd for the first time. Beatty is doing alot of press in hope of drawing a younger and new generation to the film. I think its probably one of the best politcal films of our time and thinks it should have won best Picture (although it was up against polanski's TESS and RAGTIME) I honestly think REDS was about 25 years ahead of its time and has got to be on the top five of the most liberal films ever made.

Hats off to Beatty! Lets just hope he makes another movie (C'mon! TOWN AND COUNTRY can NOT be his last film!!!)

1. I have a very difficult time forgiving him for Dick Tracy.
What a piece of unwatchable, laughable, excrutiatingly painful shit that one was.

But yes, other than that awful vomit, beatty fucking rocks!

2. I LOVED Dick Tracy
I really thought the simplicity of it is what sold me.I also enjoyed the Sondheim songs and the way he used color and lighting. Even LOVE AFFAIR is a guilty pleasure of mine. TOWN AND COUNTRY however is just unforgiveable IMO.
