Oh Goody...it's United Way Donation season at work...

yes...the season when the higher ups, who are making millions in stock options, ask me to give some of my salary to United Way...

Oh...and if I do this...they match....goody double goody

Well they have had freezes on wages, slashed our healthcare benefits and made healthcare so expensive...that I am making less today than I was before...

So I said no.

I still give to charity, but I will do it privately and not as part of their corporate scheme.

1. It's hard to know if the money you donate goes to the right place.

I would recommend UNICEF over United Way, any day.

It's too bad more corporations don't team up with other agencies the way they do with The United Way.

when I found out about all the first class travel their executives were enjoying

5. And in many places they support the Boy Scouts

and Salvation Army. I don't donate to places that support discrimination.
