A deer bolted in front of traffic on Rt 1 in College Park, MD today...
This was at about 10:45 this morning. The critter ran from a residential area and ran right into traffic, without being hit, bounding over one car before it high-tailed it into the woods in back of businesses on the other side.

I wonder if she knows how freaking lucky she is?

11. It is -- I'm being VERY careful running in the woods
The bucks are literally bonkers right now, and they can be very, very dangerous this time of yesr... in between them and hunters on POSTED land, it's a bit stressful exercising!

6. A friend of mine was en route to a gig when one went through his
windshield.

He's a trumpet player, and was on his way to a performance of an opera, in which he had an important offstage role.

He continued on to his gig with the windshield smashed; and I'm told that he was picking bits of glass from his beard right before he had to play.

9. No.
I was fine. No airbag release or anything.
Car was pretty banged up though.
I was wearing a seatbelt.

7. Saw a bunch the other night, just south of the greenbelt metro
They leveled that area for a new shopping center. There were some deer roaming about - no doubt thinking WTF?

A few years ago, there was a delay on the green line, because a deer was in the tunnel near Ga Ave/Petworth - talk about out of place.

It was a wonderful place to get away from it all. We rarely saw another person.

I wonder what stores are going in...
We need more check-cashing stores and quickie marts like we need a hole in the head.
